As mentioned in the Blog this is youngest son Daniel's turntable shown here standing atop of his Beomaster 7000 amplifier. It was originally part of a system that included a cd player and tape deck. The system dates from the late 1980's and the 7000 turntable was the last one ever produced by B&O
The Beogram 7000 has tangential tracking of the arm that keeps the stylus always presented at the correct angle to the record's groove. Originally the 7000 had a B&O MMC2 cartridge. However time does not look kindly upon the rubber components of the cartridge and so this has been replaced with a reconditioned MMC4 by ex B&O technician Axel Schurholz in Germany. One day maybe Axel can recondition the MMC2 for Dan when he's saved up enough for what will be a significant cash outlay!
