Someone once said you have to kiss a lot of frogs before one turns into a prince. Well today my "frog" did just that. The frog was a bog standard black 102C I bought at auction about six weeks ago. I hadn't really paid too much attention to it as it was intended to be a restoration that I was going to sell on. As I worked on it it became apparent that under the dust was a beautiful machine....so beautiful in fact that the only thing it has required is, as always, a new carrying handle ( what destructive stuff our hands secrete!!). Everything...but everything is original. I have even decided to live with the brassing on the corner protectors. Needless to say this one isn't going anywhere! Often described as a "boring black 102" by those who should know better this machine is currently the pride and joy of my 102 collection.
So.... best tell my wife there's a new lodger that has taken up residence in the back bedroom....wish me luck!
Information on the 102C is contained on the blue 102C page.
